Local businesses are one of the most important economic players in the success of a community. They provide job opportunities, increase local wealth(keeping the money local), sponsor local events and charities, create independence, and contribute to local improvements by paying government taxes.
With all the pros listed above, local purchasing can be pricy and too much effort in the online shopping era. So how can we involve local businesses and enjoy lower prices for our community members?
We call them win-win models:
Community membership
A community has economic power when facing local businesses/service providers, whereas individuals are limited.
The concept is simple:
Communities invite local businesses to use the platform in exchange of providing community benefits. We call it community membership.
The tradeoff is simple. Local businesses receive a new marketing channel, and community members receive more value.
Multi-functional business spaces
Multi-functional business spaces are places that offer the community to use their space outside of operating hours.
A community has the power to offer local businesses to become multi-functional spaces for community needs, providing them new revenue streams while giving community members more co-spaces.
In Tel Aviv, Israel, nightlife venues are struggling during COVID-19, our platform enables these places to offer a different use of these venues during the daytime. Co-working desks, workshops, private functions, photoshoot locations are just some of the ideas we would suggest.
Our platform will enable community members to book and pay with a single click, and these beloved venues will have a better chance at surviving COVID-19.
In conclusion, communities have incredible economic power that individuals can rarely achieve by themselves. Local businesses that will join the community membership agreement will have more traffic at their shops. The sense of belonging in the community will increase by the interaction and engagement with local businesses.
Innovation can destroy existing practices and industries. In a utopian world, we progress while taking into account solutions that existed before us. Involving local businesses with the community platform might be a perfect solution to progress and preserve.
